In 1921 the League was absorbed into the newly established Welsh National League set-up which in effect became the first attempt at an all-Wales structure for the domestic game.

For various reasons outlined in the chapter on the WNL the attempt failed and the North Wales Coast League was re-started in 1933.

The League disbanded in 1935 with the formation of the Welsh League (North) which runs to this day under the name Welsh Alliance League.
